Alcohol and Other Drugs Conference Funding Program

Applications for the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing’s Alcohol and Other Drugs Conference Funding Program closed on 30 September 2012. The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing funds the Alcohol and Other Drugs Conference Funding Program (AODCP) to provide limited financial assistance to:

  • support conferences and events in related areas (AODCP Sponsorship Program) [up to a maximum of $10,000 ex GST]; and
  • an organisation employing staff or an individual who is being supported by their employer, to enhance their professional expertise through conference and event attendance (AODCP Scholarship Program) [up to a maximum of $2,000 ex GST].

This Program is managed by the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education on the Department’s behalf.

The purpose of the AODCP is to:

  • Promote understanding of national issues in prevention, service improvement and early intervention in alcohol and other drugs;
  • Promote debate on alcohol and other drug issues;
  • Promote the involvement of Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Sector Workers and/or researchers in the AOD field at alcohol and other drugs themed conferences; and
  • Support the delivery of those conferences with an AOD focus.
